Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Vladdy Ventures LLC (“Vladdy Ventures,” “we,” “us”), operator of EssayStat (the “Service”), collects, uses, and shares information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here and in our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Account data: your name and email and a hashed password. Application inputs: the answers you type into the questionnaire, your self-reported GPA and AP count, any writing sample you provide, and the schools you select. Generated content: the essays and explanations we produce for you. Payment data: processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation of payment and limited metadata but never your full card number. Technical data: log, device, and usage information collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to: provide and personalize the Service and generate your essays; process payments and prevent fraud; maintain security and enforce our Terms; communicate with you; comply with legal obligations; and operate, analyze, and improve the Service.

AI development and model training. You acknowledge and agree that we and our service providers may use your inputs and the generated output to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve our artificial-intelligence models, features, and the Service, and for research and analytics. Where we use data for these purposes beyond simply generating your essay, we use de-identified or aggregated data where reasonably practicable.

3. How we share information

We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf, including Anthropic (AI generation), Stripe (payments), and our hosting and database providers. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. De-identified or aggregated data, and data already incorporated into trained models, may be retained and used indefinitely.

5. Your rights & choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can request deletion of your account and associated drafts by emailing privacy@essaystat.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. Note that deletion does not require us to retract data already used in aggregated or de-identified form or in previously trained models.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Minors

The Service is intended for prospective college applicants and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact privacy@essaystat.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. International users

We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed and stored in the U.S. and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer and processing.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above reflects the latest version, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
